Ok so if you read my first blog, Barackonomics101 and could not believe that any of the three scenarios were true....the correct answer was C....really!
Let's get both very serious and very basic. When the idea of class warfare comes out via words, it always sounds so great. Almost heroic. Robin Hoodish. We will take money from the rich and give it to the poor, or in this case, the middle class.
These words so elegantly spoken by Senator Obama sound wonderful to the millions of people it targets. 95% of the people will get tax cuts under his plan. If you don't make over $250,000 a year, you'll get a tax break. That's right...this targets a large majority of U.S. voters...THAT'S THE PLAN! Quick anaogy.......
Little Johnny comes to school with $20 in his pocket. His classmates find out about it and complain to the teacher. In fairness, the teacher tells the class....let's take a vote, all in favor of Little Johnny keeping all his $20 raise your hands....one hand is raised....or all those in favor of Little Johnny giving every student (20 students) one of his dollars raise your hand....19 hands go up.... Little Johnny, welcome to Barackonomics!
Ok...back to serious. This year's economic plan presented by Obama aims directly at the citizens who have been griping for years that this kind of plan is dead wrong. For years the middle class has been sending tax dollars to the government just to see the government send it to non-working, welfare recipients. The middle class has been furious about having to support the do-nothings in this country. That's right... the middle class, the hard-working, blue collar people that work hard every day just to see their tax money filtered to their non-working counterparts are now going to be the new "welfare via tax cut" recipients.
So here comes Barackonomics! Let's take all of that anger in the middle class pointed to the do-nothings and aim it at "the rich". We'll give you, the hard working middle class a small tax break, and we'll take it from the people you once aspired to become....the successful. WOW, when did we as middle-class Americans become the group of entitlement?
We work hard, we don't need the rich to be overtaxed for us.....we need the rich ...uh....to employ us! Remember that!!!
